The Spiritual Awakening
The Spiritual Awakening is a gradual process of blossoming of your spiritual nature. It culminates with the realization of spirit (Soul) as the true Self.
The spiritual awakening process is associated with the awakening of the Kundalini Shakti.
The Kundalini is not a physical entity. It's described as a metaphysical serpent with three and a half coils. It lies dormant at Muladhara Chakra. The word is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Kunda' which means a hollow cavity.
Without exceptions, the process begins with the awakening of the Kundalini Power at Muladhara chakra. The process continues with the upward movement of kundalini through the six chakras. The culmination takes place with the Kundalini reaching the seventh chakra, Sahasrara.
The process may get triggered by several factors. Life-changing events like severe trauma, terminal illness, emotional upheavals, near-death experiences... are usually associated with spontaneous spiritual awakenings. Several drugs, medications, and foods are also known to act as triggers for spiritual awakening.
Besides, there are methodologies and practices which may affect a regulated awakening. These practices as a group are generally known as Yoga.
Among the invented Yoga methodologies there are two basic approaches. The most common practices adopted rely on energizing and attuning Prana Shakti to force-stir the Kundalini. It is a time taking process and success is rare. Much depends on several extrinsic factors besides individual efforts.
The second method is direct and involves the transfer of Prana Shakti by a Guru to the disciple. This transfer of energy spontaneously awakens the Kundalini and puts it on auto-pilot. The result is the instantaneous and sure-shot awakening of Kundalini.
Once awakened, the Kundalini, starts the cleansing process. The cleansing starts with the physical body. In later stages, the subtle body gets involved.
The cleansing process removes the blockages that restrict us to our worldly life. Our entire body and mind pass through a series of uncontrollable events. These events are quite painful experiences and are collectively called Kundalini Awakening Symptoms.
Everyone passes through different sets of experiences unique to them.
There are partial and full-blown awakenings. In the partial awakenings individual or a few chakras get awakened. In full-blown awakening, the Kundalini starts at the Muladhara Chakra. It then starts moving upward from there. It pierces through all the six chakras on the way to the Sahasrara chakra. Full-blown awakenings are rare to see and make the aspirant as powerful as an embodied God on earth.
The Chakras are related to five Great Elements of existence- Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space. Each of these elements has psychic powers attached to it- the Siddhis. Mastery over these Great Elements is the key to the corresponding Siddhis.
The initial stages of Kundalini's awakening are unstable. Unless the Kundalini has reached the Manipura Chakra, the Kundalini has the tendency to slip back to Muladhara Chakra. After it crosses the Manipura Chakra, it's a stable awakening. The Kundalini moves only upwards after that.
